Question about no communacation and no feedback

I had an item on ebay that ended last thursday, buyer paid after a couple of hours, i sent a message saying thank you item will be posted by recorded delivery 1st thing in the morning, so next morning i posted it, then on monday evening i checked the tracking of the delivery and it said delivered, so i check ebay on tuesday and ive still not received any feedback so i message him asking if he received the item ok as i hadnt had no feedback, its now thursday night and still no feedback or reply to my message.

Do you have to give feedback, should i message him again and if so what do i say?

I have had this before. Three times. I even messaged the buyers asking if they received it and if so please leave feedback.

Buyers each replied saying yes received, thank you very much, but never left feedback. So I never left any for them.

well it isn't compulsory to leave feedback.

i sometimes get stuff and then forget to go on ebay for weeks, and when i do i spot it and leave feedback.

feedback is optional.
pester them for it and you might get feedback you don't want

I guess im annoyed i left him lovely feedback and got nothing in return as well as not knowing if has def recieved item. The guy has a shop on ebay so i know he's on there regularly as he has stuff ending everyday.

Oh well guess i'll leave it.

Argh, that's the worst. I learnt my lesson after that happened to me and shame as it was a really expensive camera that I sold too! Impeccably packaged, sent next day by recorded delivery etc....

Now if I sell I wait for feedback first and specify in my listing that I will leave feedback after it has been received, and when I send a message to tell them item has been sent, repeat the feedback statement.

I have to say I find it very irritating when sellers hound you for feedback! I always leave feedback evebtually! Although, in saying that if someone emails me to check I got it, I do always reply. Just sometimes slow in leaving FB!! I have sold many things and ot had feedback, but as someone says, they don't have to.
