i brought a brand new with tags coat from ebay.its arrived and half the buttons are hanging off-although it is brand new with tags.im waiting for reply from seller but if her listings state no returns, have i got any chance of getting a refund so that i can buy a decent coat!!!

Lots of new coats have poorly attached buttons - can't you just sew them a bit tighter? You are not due a return because it is new.

Is it nice otherwise?

cheesesarnie · 08/02/2010 13:15

yes it is nice.but if id brought it new in a shop id expect the buttons to last a bit longer,i wouldnt buy it.looks like i could lose about 4 quite quickly.

There have been loads of complaints on here recently in the S&B section about poorly attached buttons. Unfortunately you need to lower your expectations Not because you bought it on ebay, but because it is new and they're all like that.

ok thanks.expectations lowered.sigh.

stating no returns means nothing. If an item is not as described then you can return for a refund. You need to return by trackable means.

If she refuses a refund you can open a dispute (this is why you need tracking) and you will get a paypal refund. The seller will not be forced to refund your return postage therefor it might be best weighing up what is best for you.

Agree, buttons are always very shoddily sewn on these days, very annoying I know but hey ho!

selling is lovely and has said to return it.apparently it was never even undone so they didnt realise that the buttons were loose.shes offered refund.postage was £2.70(although she charged £4.50.would i get back total price i paid including p and p) so i only end up losing return postage?

nice seller.

yes, a refund has to be a full refund (all you paid)
