I bought disney DVDs - have just arrived. Look fake. What do i do?

What DVDs are they?

There are plenty (eg Toy Story, Lion King) that Disney have "deleted" so if you have bought something like that, I'd expect them to be fake unless they specifically said that they were genuine used copies.

lion king and beauty and the beast - not currently available in shops which is why i was looking on ebay for used ones or unwanted gifts etc. they didn't go cheap...

No, I don't think you are allowed to sell fakes on eBay (but people do). I think that it is probably unwritten, but given, that if you buy lion kind and beauty and the beast at the moment that they will definitely be fake unless specifically stated that "my child had this a few years ago, now grown out of etc etc...."

Lion King certainly has not been available for years. It's very annoying, but this is how disney operate. Read this thread:

My n-DVDs link does work to another thread, but I didn't mean it to look like that

DH bought some CDs (very expensive imported Japanese box set) that were fake - very good fakes, you wouldn't have known if you weren't knowledgeable about the genre (couple of key facts and names on the packaging were wrong) Seller refused to admit it, don't know if he had sold them on not knowing but DH had to dispute via EBay (he provided all the supporting info and forwarded it to them) IIRC he got his money back, but it took a while. No idea what happened to the seller.

Is it legal to sell fakes? Ask for your money back and if they refuse tell them you will contact the counterfeit unit at the police.

Did you pay by PP? As you wil get your money back no problem and then report them to ebay. they should have the disney holograph on them.

I would contact seller first and then open dispute if needbe. I had a fake once and I contacted them and straight away said very sorry and refunded immediately. Some people won't say anything you see!

ta dah! That's what happened with me too, obviously fakes then! Worth it for them if the person doesn't complain eh? Glad you got it sorted
