Help - Advice need urgently

Basically I'm a bit of an ebay novice, but up until now I've not had any problems. However on Thursday evening I brought a bike from a private seller on a buy now offer. I paid for it on paypal, and I got an email from the seller thanking me for buying it and confirming it was for collection only (it was advised as free P&P but I realise this was an error). I emailed back saying collection was fine and asking for contact details. Since then I have heard absolutely nothing (despite emailing them once more last night again asking for contact details).How long can I reasonably give them to get in touch before I give up and try and get my money back? I really do want the bike, but I don't want to be messed around. Advice please!!!

It has only been a couple of days - some people take longer to reply to this sort of thing. I don't know what the official ebay policy on this is (someone who knows will likely be along soon) but i'd say give it until at least Monday before you email again. (at least one person I know doesn't have email access at weekends, so this may be the case)

Also, check that your paypal payment has cleared with them.

Thanks Pure. We'll give it a bit longer then. We had a receipt for our paypal payment so I assume it's cleared. As I said I'm new to this and a bit impatient!

I reckon give it until Monday as it could be the seller is away for the weekend? I know probably inconvenient for you but they may well have had a 5 day policy ticked on their ebay page might be worth having another look. Sometimes I don't get a chance to post things out for a couple of days to the buyer but it doesn't mean that I have forgotten or that I am trying to pull a fast one. Especially private sellers as I say might have another issue - no internet, away for weekend etc etc Don't worry too much yet.
