Sorry bit long...
I sold something on eBay a few weeks ago. Good item at a reasonable price, I don't offer returns.
Buyer contacted me the day the item arrived saying it wasn't the colour she had expected and could she return it. While a bit annoyed, I said ok and asked her to post it back to me ASAP and that I would refund her as soon as it arrived.
When I went back to my inbox after replying to that mail (sent about 2 hours prior) there was another email saying she had opened a significantly not as described dispute with Paypal.
I emailed her back saying that I was surprised she had opened the dispute and was there any way she could close it off as I had already offered the refund. She said she would try and that is the LAST time she's emailed me in almost 2 weeks.
I have emailed her about 5 times asking about when she posted the jumper etc.. but no response.
Then, I decided to close the dispute myself with Paypal and authorise the refund, on the understanding that Paypal wouldn't give her the money until I got the jumper back, but it now looks like they have refunded her.
I'm gutted...have lost my jumper AND my money.
I notice her number is on the order details...will I phone her? Should I open a dispute with her now for non-payment? Or should I cut my losses and learn a valuable lesson? Dont' want to get nasty with her. She hasn't left me feedback so feel vulnerable. Thanks for any help or advice.

Phone her.

Paypal always side with the buyer, it's just what they do, right or wrong. Talk to her.

Thanks Pfft...that was my gut instinct to do but didn't know if I was crossing the line. Will buzz her later when the kids sleeping.

if this kind of thing happens again, don't close the dispute. If she doesn't return it then paypal won't give a refund

Thanks sixlostmonkeys, will be wiser from here on in....can understand now how some sellers have very explicit info on their listings about non-payment and returns etc.

BUT how spooky is this....came home this afternoon to a parcel! The item was returned to me. Couldn't help but notice the way it was squashed into a tiny package and posted second class but it's in one piece...and I can relist now once I've ironed it.

Just cannot understand why the buyer hadn't the courtesy to email and say it was on its way...

Seriously guys, thanks so much for the advice...none of my friends sell on ebay so didn't know where to turn. x
