Is it worth me ebaying any of these items?

Having done a massive post-christmas declutter, i have a number of things to get rid of. Do i bother ebaying them, or do i just donate to my local charity shops?

The items are:-

a full-length ladies leather coat, never worn
Calvin Klein ladies 'lounge pants' (PJ bottoms then!), never worn
Burberry handbag (genuine, but no dust bag or cert of authentification or anything)
a Pilates Performer fitness machine (bought in a fit of energy a few years ago, used more as a clothes hanger than for its actual purchase!)
a brand-new 5 pack of Kushies Ultra nappies, toddler size
Prime Suspect complete DVD boxset (brand new, duplicate set)
a pair of ladies size 8 chocolate brown knee length leather boots

The reason i'm asking is that i put other bits up for sale pre-christmas and people weren't interested, or things were literally going for peanuts - i can't be bothered with the faffing about in that instance and would rather just give it to the charity shops. What do you think?

it sounds well worth a try people buy all sorts off ebay and your things sound like they would sell

krugerparkrules · 03/01/2010 13:16

i guess your best bet is to track similar items on ebay, and see what about 3 -4 sell for, which will give you an idea of the going rate .... that should tell you if it is worthwhile or not (and also the wording which seems to work best)

i would imagine the kushies would sell well, the pilates trainer ...

for the clothes and dvd's you could advertise in mumnet for sale section, might get some interest....

And you could always put a fixed price on the items. They're worth putting up.

Thanks for the responses. In my past experience, clothes and shoes/boots never seem to sell very well. I'll start with the nappies and bag and go from there.

Well, i stuck the nappies on at a B-I-N of £25 and they've sold already That was worth doing!

thats great! let us know how the rest go.

skymoo · 03/01/2010 18:17

absolutely worth doing - the boots sound great - let us know when they are up!

Tortoiselookingforwardto2010 · 03/01/2010 18:21

I might be interested in the boots. Do you have a pic of them?

BertieBotts · 03/01/2010 18:25

I always do a "completed listings" search and see whether similar items have sold recently and for how much.

descendingintomadness · 03/01/2010 19:48

Right, i've stuck the boots up on ebay. If you do a search for ebay sellers, i'm poppymay07.

darn, was about to offer to buy the Kushies! But that's a fair price you've got there.

Clothes don't seem to sell that well and are heavy to post - stuff with low postage seems to do much better.

knicknack · 04/01/2010 13:09

it would be easier if you put a link, i can't find them
