hi I'm new to all this so please bare with me
ive bid on this ((cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200420032706#ht_5580wt_1167 this))
its the third listing for it that i know of, apparently due to "timewasters" last time it went for £30 but immediately was re-listed. (hmm)
This time i bid a max of £20.69 straight away, now i see its had four other bids three of which have been quickly retracted until the bid went to my max, I'm thinking that somethings not quite right about this i.e. seller working out my max bid and trying to make me bid more. poss whats happened before and shes ended up winning her own item? using two ebay accounts?
could you guys advise please
hope this makes sense

its shill bidding and she is bidding on her on her own item, I would retract my bid and look at something else.

IMoveTheStarsForChristmas · 22/12/2009 20:13

you can report her for this

hocuspontas · 22/12/2009 20:17

Agree. I'd report it. There is no innocent explanation for that activity.

ChilloHippi · 22/12/2009 20:32

Sounds like shill bidding to me. Report it to Ebay.

ChilloHippi · 22/12/2009 20:36

I've looked at her feedback and she has sold several times to a couple of people. This might be genuine, but sets alarm bells ringing for me. I would steer clear if I were you.

DuelingFanjo · 22/12/2009 20:39

I've never seen that before! I didn't even know you could retract a bid!

Mspontipine · 23/12/2009 19:20

Ouch her listings hurt the eyes!!!

Look at this

ChilloHippi · 23/12/2009 21:09

It looks like she doesn't want you to bid because of how she has put 'please do not bid' in big flashing letters seperately from the rest of the sentence.

SantasKinkyKnickers0nMaHead · 23/12/2009 21:12

Report her for shill bidding.

SantasKinkyKnickers0nMaHead · 23/12/2009 21:16

Chillo, the 'please do not bid' is in relation to the ;if you do not like my terms'

ChilloHippi · 23/12/2009 21:24

Yes that's what I mean. She's put the 'please do not bid' separate from the start of the sentence so it looks odd.

Have a lovely Christmas, Knickers

Goof bay is excellent for snooping on suspicious traders!
have a look here
there are a number of items she seems to have sold twice - I ignored the dvds and playstation games but if you look at her baby items she has sold the leapfrog thing and the 2 blossom farm items twice, obviously not satisfied with a 99p sale she puts them on again.
Definitley suspicious trading!

SmacOnTheLipsUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2009 21:27

her listings do hurt the eyes a lot!

SmacOnTheLipsUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2009 21:30

it's also strange that all her listings are for private sales so when you look at her feedback as a seller you can't see what she has sold - on the ebay site - you can on goofbay however!

ChilloHippi · 23/12/2009 21:40

Yes, private sales always make me suspicious. If it's for rude or embarrassing stuff, then fair enough. But I don't see that's it's necessary for most people.

hannahvn · 24/12/2009 15:21

thanks for that, i've reported her, not sure now to delete my bid and if i do it will be interesting to see if the other bid disappears as well!

not much you can do apart from report it again. She is definitely at it!
