I left a low bid on a boden coat for dd2 and won it, but i was away when bidding ended. I was only away for 5 days and i admit completely forgot . I got a message after 2 days saying if i didnt pay she would relist, but when looked now she relisted already
I thought the seller had to wait 7 days before relisting, im very and

Don;t know to be honest - if I was a seller I wouldn't relist so quickly, but some do have this in their T&C's. HOpefully someone will be along who knows.

EldonAve · 19/12/2009 16:49

I also thought they had to wait 7 days

Is it still showing in your won items?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 19/12/2009 19:33

Ebay temrs

Looks like you only have 4 days t pay.

Hi - I've had a recent experience with ebay which might help - I sold an item and waited for payment - none received despite invoice and two emails to the buyer. After 5 days (minimum required) I opened an unpaid case through the resolution centre - the buyer had 4 days to pay before I could close the case, have unpaid item strike registered on his file and relist item or offer a second chance. He emailed immediately to say that he didn't want the item, but I have to wait 4 days before I can close the case. I think (following these procedures) she has broken the rules and should have contacted you first and then gone through the resolution centre - she can't just relist and has to give you, as the winning bidder, a chance to pay. If you're really upset about it, then complain/open a case through the resolution centre. Sorry for the long post - HTH

Hulababy - you have up to 4 days to pay, once an unpaid item case has been opened, and this can;t be done until 4 days after the bidding closed. So technically you have up to 8 days to pay, and the seller has to open a case, having tried to contact you beforehand.

MunchMummy · 19/12/2009 19:45

As a seller I've recently had alot of people not paying, which is really annoying. So I've lost patience with people and ask for payment within 48 hours or I will relist.

BUT, I always email the buyer first to remind them and would never relist it until I had opened an unpaid item case.

Seems a bit mean of them, but after 5 days I'd probably have relisted it.

phatcat · 19/12/2009 19:46

I think you just have to put this one down to experience. What you should have done is let her know that you would be away and would pay on your return if you won. Forgetting isn't a reasonable excuse. As a seller I would be cheesed off if I'd had no contact for 5 days after bidding ended. I think it's not unreasonable of her and she did attempt to contact you. As a seller you can open an unpaid item dispute 4 days after bidding ended. HTH

Well much as I adore Lisa I think I might have to put the other side...what if she needed the money quickly?
Tbh things are so weighted in favour of buyers and against sellers, now, that there are hugely increased numbers of non payers and simply people mucking about...not that you're one of them, but sellers just assume now that someone isn't going to pay and try to relist asap.
I don't think she has to open a case. She gave you fair warning too.

Can you not bid on the relisted item?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 19/12/2009 19:50

i know its my fault, i left a bid early on and then it ended while i was away, i normally check emails on my phone but there is no signal in the woods, so couldnt.
not a lot i can do i guess, i cant force her to send it to me and would unfair on other buyer too shame though, was the coat i wanted for dd2

you have 4 days to pay did she send you a message to say pay by x date or I will relist? I would have thought you need to go through the unpaid item strike process before relisting??

Flightattendant · 19/12/2009 19:54

Aw Lisa I'm sure you'll find another like it...can we help you look?

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 19/12/2009 20:02

it was a boden spot coat, pink with brown spots, they have some on ebay but not in her size and not for the price
oh well, thanks for offer though

the seller is wrong to do this.
you should still be able to pay and she can either send you the item or if she doesn't you can open an item not received dispute and get a refund.
