So really we're all at the mercy of the buyers aren't we?

So I was trying to make some extra money for Christmas on ebay but just had an email back from an unhappy 'buyer' claiming the baby top I sold was covered in stains and not even washed!
I mean c'mon!!! Wy would I do that??!

Not happy at all as it only cost her £2.20 and I am willing to refund (if only to protect my 100% rating)but it's just pants!

Ebay is really dishheartening now isn't it? You really are at the mercy of the buyer and their say so.

I have asked the buyer to return the 'stained' top and then I will issue a refund. She also mentioned the threat of leaving negative feeback. Waht else can I do?

Just feel like it's all a big waste of time and too much hassle braving the Post Office in Decmeber. Did I mention I posted it yesterday and she received today - very quick postage too!

Just really annoyed...

Yep. I don't sell anymore for exactly this reason, and I know a lot of people who have stopped too. I didn't use ebay much, just to make some money from the dc's old clothes to buy new ones really but I think now the buyers have too much opportunity to scam you should they so wish. It's a shame really, I don't know what Ebay were thinking, they must have lost a lot of sellers in the last year or so.

You have done all you can. I too have had this although funnily enough I have never had an item returned.

I agree with you.

I sold a crystal pig for £29, have 100% rating and was very honest about description. It was in mint condition, had photos to prove it. i listed other things that day and was also honest about rips to presentation boxes etc.

I wrapped it in layers of bubble wrap, in a box, more wrapping etc.

And now she says the silver tail has broken off dispite the packaging all being in tact.

paypal have found in her favour and I have to refund the £29. I am monumentally hacked off.

Other items I sent the same day are all fine.

And Paypal's decision is final so appealing wont work.

Wont be selling anymore, and like you I was only trying to make a bit of money.
