I am about to sell some heavy items on ebay (have not sold on there before). A playpen and some pushchairs. The quotes i got from parcelfore and dhl are much higher than those people selling the same items on ebay are citing for postage costs.

I must be missing something! I want to price my postage costs to be competitive but have no idea how others are finding couriers to deliver 16kg packages for £7.99?!!

All help greatfully received! Am off out now but will check back later.

TIA

I think parcelmonkey has discounts on at the moment for heavier items

You could try Collectplus, I've used them and they are pretty reliable and reasonably priced. But the problem is that your buyer will have to be willing to collect from a certain shop and you need a drop off point close by to you as well. I put in the postcode of the person buying, and if they have a collectplus point close by, email to ask if they would be willing to collect.

My buyer was happy to do so, but you may want to check first.

I used Send it Now for a toy box. I'm not sure it will take the playpen but should be fine for pushchairs.
