I'm a little bit peeved I have just sold a picture on E-Bay that measures 54" x 18" so it's a fair size.

I stated that it was for collection only.

Someone has put a bid in and won it for £4.99 I have checked my messages and it says

Happy to purchase at £4.99 if you post to us (we would pay the postage costs). Regards

How the hell do I post something like that. I cant be arsed wrapping it thats why I put collection.

I'm new to selling and this has really put me off if this is the sort of trick people pull!!!

Why couldnt he send me a message while bidding asking if I would post it.

reply to them saying it is collection only and to let you know within 24 hours whether they can collect or not and if not you will mutual withdraw from sale. You will then get your fees back and you can relist.

fanjolina · 16/11/2009 21:24

I would tell him he hasn't met conditions of sale, and ask ebay to cancel the sale. That is a major inconvenience to have to post that. And you are right, he shoud have ASKED during the auction if posting was a possibility.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 16/11/2009 21:24

Say it's collection only. If they can't collect, you'll have to relist it.
Of they could organise a courier to pick it up from you but that will cost £££.

KEAWYED · 16/11/2009 21:29

If I said if he could organise a courier he could have it sent would that be fair enough. Then ask for mutual withdrawl.

Will I get a bad mark for it?

you don't get a strike for mutual withdraw.

if he doesn't play fair then you can raise a non payment dispute and he will get a strike

KEAWYED · 16/11/2009 21:37

Thanks.

I only wanted to raise a bit of money for DS3s christening.

Dont think I am ready for the cutthroat world of Ebay.

you can tell him to arrange a courier, but don't forget to invoice h8im for any extra packaging

KEAWYED · 16/11/2009 21:41

Told him he can organise a courier or we have it withdrawn.

I must grow some balls and get tough
