Would you leave a neg/neutral for this?

I bought a cuski BNIB, like the ones pictured.

It is for a friends daughters christening gift, so it was important that it was new in the box. I paid full price for it BTW. It arrived today and the seller hadn't wrapped it, but had taped the box up with brown parcel tape and stuck the postage sticker and an address label directly onto the box.

Obviously, I can't give this as a gift in the box, and a cuski on its own will look like a fucking dishcloth just plonked in a gift bag.

I emailed the seller and she said sorry and that she would bear it in mind for the future .

In over 1000 transactions I have never left a negative or a neutral. WWYD in this situation?

I've never left a negative in my life, despite having items sent that weren't as described etc. In those circumstances I have always given them a chance to sort it out first.

I would put it to her straight (but politely!) that you don't give negative/neutral feedback lightly but what she has done to the packaging is unacceptable and if she won't refund then you don't really have much choice.

well i would e-mail her again and ask for a new one to be sent out as it's for a gift

presumably you paid for postage and PACKING which she hasn't really done./

point that out to her. if she refuses then buy a lovely giftbox to put the thing in, and then leave her neutral (at least)

Id open a dispute to be honest.

Its a private seller so I'm assuming that she won't have any more. She has left me positive feedback now. Think I will have to email her again as its really not good enough is it.
