Huge box of Gap & Next clothes for my DS, won for 99p plus £2 p+P. It cost them over £8 just for the courier!

Knickers0nmahead · 30/09/2009 15:08

StripeySocks, I can remember ages ago sell a 200+ bundle of dd's baby clothes to someone for 99p. They spoilt it though by not leaving feedback or even an email of thanks.

I bought a Jottum dress on the basis of a really bad photo because I knew which dress it was although was not sure what condition it would be in. Got it for about £5. I then picked up the matchingt-shirt for 99p.
Both were beautiful and DD wore them to several parties etc.

Then I took some nice photos of her wearing it and sold it on for £35 for the set

ILoveStripeySocks · 30/09/2009 15:14

I left glowing feedback plus an email of thanks! was thrilled to bits with what i got, as the description only said "box of clothes" and there was no photo!

MrsMerryHenry · 30/09/2009 15:15

£200 Whistles dress for just £20. Pales into insignificance compared to the rest of you, though!

Ds1 got a bike frame that was worth £250 new, and then he and dh built it up together from parts from his other bike. He'd barely had it 10 days, though, when someone followed him home from the skate park, and nicked it when he left the back gate unlocked. It was his pride and joy, too.

A Rangemaster cooker hood. £359 in John Lewis, £100 (still boxed and brand new) on eBay.
Similarly, a brand new Rangemaster Professional cooker for £899. It's around £1,500 in the shops.

I got a nearly new Jane powertrack buggy for £50 which I thought was a total bargain. Came with all the car bits etc.

NorbertDentressangle · 30/09/2009 16:34

A £500+ hand-made metal/iron double bed frame for around £30.

I then sold our 15 year old not particularly nice old pine bed frame for more than that (meaning I had a lovely new metal bed and a few ££s in my pocket!)

lynniep · 30/09/2009 16:35

I got my wedding dress, veil and tiara for 50 quid. Had been worn once already(obviously) but checked the 'new' price and worth nearly a grand just for the dress. It fit perfectly and was immaculate and I loved the tiara although I added a few bits to suit me.

motherlovebone · 30/09/2009 21:49

my groovy 70's table and leather chairs, £5.50!

lynniep · 01/10/2009 09:54

Swedes2Turnips0 · 01/10/2009 10:05

A pair of hardwood glazed doors for £15. They replaced the hideeous sliding patio doors between the sitting room and the orangery that were there when we first moved in.

A beautiful long red dress that fits perfectly..I had saved up a budget of £120.00 to buy one in the shops, then found this on ebay and cost me less than £10.00 inlcuding postage and packing..

I have also just bought a coat , long red military style from principles for £20.00 from ebay, again saving cash. Both items have been worn but immaculate condition..am now hooked on ebay..saving me a small fortune.

Have resold a couple of things I didnt like though

Bought a M&P cost for £20 for when some relatives came. Cleaned it up and sold it a month later for £100...

Bought a musical instrument from someone locally (pick up only, so fewer buyers). I don't think the guy knew how much it was really worth, as I got it for £300 Buy It Now. I know I could sell it again tomorrow for more than £500!

ninedragons · 10/10/2009 11:05
