Fake- what to do?

Also posted this under a feedback query.

Have suggested to buyer that a Lancome mascara is fake for these reasons:

Brush is different from the one I have currently and all others over 2 years I have used it- he replies it is older stock and that the brushes were different- bollocks as been using it for 2 years- so his product must be ancient!

Embossed rose etc on brush handle is differnt.

No serial/stock quality number etched on mascara tube which you get with all Lancome products.

he has also made feedback private since the auction, so I cannot see his other negative and neutral feedback- which is 2/5 this month alone. he now tells me he has closed that acocunt anyway...???

Have emaile d Ebay - unsure what to do re. feeedback for him?

Fortunately- and unlucky for him- my BF H is a legal director of Ebay...so will get him on the case soon anyway.

but meanwhile- any ideas?

I'd stop fretting about feedback tbh.

open a dispute for item not as described and then hopefully you will get your money back

Why not take it to a beauty counter, say you got it as a present but you think it's fake and therefor not safe. Ask them if they wouldn't mind checking it for you as they know their products. If it is fake report it to both ebay and paypal and paypal should refund your money. Especially if the beauty counter says it's a fake, you can quote this.
