paypal as gift?? please help

I brought a mobile yesterday from seller on ebay.

have asked that i send as a gift as their usual paypal account is not working.

Is this ok to do?
not going to find myself with no phone and having given somebody money for nothing am i?

I'd be worried that you won't be covered by PayPal's protection thing. If you are covered, I don't see a problem. It's the mention of "gift" that is ringing alarm bells for me - that implies it's not for a purchase and thus not covered.

What is the prior feedback for?
Are they selling other stuff at the moment?

yeah they have other things for sale at the mo. oh well think i will just stick to sending money the way i would normally.
