Bought a pair of designer trousers on ebay in Jun, paid by paypal on Jun 6. Around 4 days later the wrong item arrived - I didn't need to open it as it was obvious it was a pair of shoes! Mailed the seller, and agreed to send the shoes on to their proper recipient (in Italy). I got the postage back, and the guy in Italy was supposed to send my stuff to me. He got his shoes - which was obvious by the seller's feedback - but my stuff has never arrived. Emailed the seller again, she said she'd ask and be in touch soon - but that was 1st July. Emailed again last Tues, saying I didn't think they'd arrive now and could I have a refund? No reply. Have now put in a claim as this started in Jun and I was afraid I'd run out of time! I know it was an honest mistake but what can I expect to happen? In the end I paid and didn't get the item. Should I escalate or give a bit more time?

When did you open the dispute? (I assume you mean dispute rather than claim.) I'd allow a week after after opening the dispute and if there's been no satisfactory response, escalate it to a claim.

Yes a dispute - opened it on Thurs. I'm away from next Tues to Sat, so I could wait til I come back and escalate it then if no response.
