I won an auction on Saturday 4th July and paid immediately. The item was from a seller with only 12 feedback including two negs but was, perhaps as a consequence of this, at a good price for the item. The item was advertised as being sent first class recorded. When it had not arrived by the following Sunday 12th, I sent a message asking if it had been posted. I got a response to say she was at university and thought she had it with her, but it was actually at her parents' house so her dad had posted it on the previous day (i.e Saturday the 11th) and I should have it on Monday 13th.
The item did not turn up on Monday or Tuesday so I filed a paypal dispute although did not escalate it to a claim. The item then turned up on Wednesday, it had been posted on Tuesday by ordinary first class post. I am annoyed that it took so long to post, that I was blatantly lied too re when the item was posted, that the advertised postage method was not used (postage cost £1.26 where I had paid £5 but would only actually have been about £2 recorded I suppose). Some of these things I could express via feedback and stars, but is there any way I can retrieve some of the postage costs as she has not used the advertised method but used a cheaper one instead.
I know if I was dishonest I could escalate the paypal dispute and win as she could not prove delivery, but won't be doing this as I do actually have the item!
