How long without payment/contact before relisting?

I sold an item on 16th May and still haven't received payment. I'm secretly delighted because it went for much lower than I wanted to sell it for. I've sent an invoice but otherwise not chased. Buyer has neg feedback for a few other late/non-payments.

How long do I have to leave it before I can legitimately assume she's forfeited the item?

open a dispute, let it run it's course, if they don't pay you get your fees back - then you can relist

22 days and no payment? I'd relist it now! (and open dispute so you get fees back)
I usually open dispute after 7 days - I'm not as patient as you.

Thanks (I'm an ebay wuss ). If I open a dispute, won't that make her pay up? I don't want to sell if I can help it ... Fees are minimal because it was a 99p listing.

it won't make her pay up but it may prompt her to do so. If you don't wait for the dispute process to complete and relist now she is within her rights to pay and expect the item. This could lead a a strike and a neg for you.

I thought buyers were expected to pay within 7 days? You can open a dispute after 7 days.
You can't be expected to hang onto things forever just incase they decide they might want to pay after all.

they can still pay once a dispute is opened - that's why it's best to open the dispute earlier rather than later.

Yes I agree 6lostmonkeys best to open dispute ASAP however I do understand OP's concern as she doesn't really want the original buyer to get it so if she opens dispute then buyer will automatically be contacted.
I'd risk it though.
I'd block her too if she is a poor payer so she doesn't get the chance to buy from you again.

Technically you should although you could say that you have sold it privately as she didn't pay up within 7 days. It would be naughty to relist it though as she is more than likely to spot it again.
Annoying for you though to wait all that time for her to make up her mind!

Yeah, really annoying! All my new listings now say that I'll relist unless paid within ten days. Grr bloody woman

The exact same thing has just happened to me DVC. A designer girls outfit for 99p and had to raise a dispute before they paid after just under 2 weeks !!!

Its really annoying ... I'm tempted to send it out in a weeks time but then I guess they will give me a big fat neg.
