i've recieved a message from a buyer that says

hi i have £* can fetch today if interested

i thought this was against the rules, but i cant find anything on the e-bay site to confirm/deny this.

It isn't disallowed but he is trying to get you to end the auction and sell it to him for a set price.

bubblagirl · 26/05/2009 19:39

ive agreed to this several times but stated id change to bin at that price so it was logged on ebay

ive also asked this before as dp was after an item and couldn't get it any where and there was 1 on ebay so thought id be cheeky and ask

i always think if its a price im happy to accept then why not

but no its not allowed but happens all the time

If you want to take x and you want them to collect then yes it's fine.

if it's a buy it now he can just buy it and collect you mark it as paid with "Other"

if it's an auction running then he bids and you cancel it with the selection sell to the current high bidder.

What isn't allowed is you saying to a buyer please pay with cash.

A buyer can CHOOSE to pay any way you agree to you cannot ASK them to pay any other way than is set out.

ok, well the price he's offered is much lower than what i've put the bidding at. and i'm not willing to go that low anyway. i just wondered if it waqs within the rules (i'm a stickler for rules!)
