I'm fuming, think seller making excuses not to send me the item I won for 99p.

Just need a moan really. I bid on a polly pocket hot wheels type pink track and cars, and a couple of other polly bits. I was the only bidder 99p.
I got home tonight to find I have won the item, but had a message from the seller today (don't know what time) saying that sorry he is ending the auction because his daughter just broke the lift part. He does apologise but I'm really cross as it sounds like an excuse not to send it out for 99p.

I start everything I sell at 99p, some go for 99p that you think are worth a lot, others go for a lot that you don't expect.

Its an auction ffs, I won the auction and now I can't have a polly pocket race to the mall set to play with

Am thinking of emailing him back to say 'thats ok for 99p I don't mind a broken lift'.... but somehow I don't think the lift is broken.

(and btw I have two boys but they are into polly pocket at the moment!)

Sounds like not happy with it going for 99p.

I would definitely email saying it doesn't matter and to send it. He has to send it, not end it early as the auction went all the way to the end.

Unless he did actually end it early (bet he didn't) or you would have had notification

i would email and say thats fine, you'll get a new lift part but please send out as your little one is very excited as you have shown him/her

Yes, call their bluff but at the end of the day they can choose to not complete the transaction and refund you - in which case you are free to do a NPS non performing seller report on them, plus you can leave appropriate feedback too.

You can't end an auction after someone has bid on it OR if no bidders you can't end an auction in the last 24 hours.
I put the bid on with 3 hours to go and then he decides its broken.
I am going to email and cheerfully say 'thats ok for 99p we can live with a broken lift' and good point lisad123 about saying the chidren are waiting for it.

I know I can't force him to send it but why put a 99p start if you won't let it go for that?

His other items are all new cosmetics with starting bids at near the shop price, he's had no bidders on those either so has decided to take it out on me.

Should I leave neg feedback if he won't send it (lets face it he's not going to cos it ain't broken) or should I just shrug my shoulders and put it down to the great ebay experience?

Hmm I haven't paid yet - was just in the process of starting to pay when I noticed a message in 'my ebay'.

Can I still do him as a non-performing seller if I've not paid?

Perhaps he is telling the truth, and didn't know how to end the auction earlier iyswim? Lots of people used to ask on the answer centre how to end something that was truly broken or lost.

I'd not assume anything but as everyone says, agree to accepting the damaged item and see whether he's happy to send it.

I think unless you have evidence or a strong hunch, ie he has been really off with you, that he's not being genuine, then no to negative.
It's annoying not knowing but I wouldn't get too hard on him. He might be honest.

I know I know. I really don't like negging people but I might consider that if he still won't send the 'broken' item. After all if he's saying that he can't sell it because its broken and therefore worthless...

But I wanted to play with the set and now I won't be able to.

Brand new the sets are £18 ish, I was paying 99p plus £5 post so its not like I got the diamond encrusted version for my 99p!

I would be tempted to pay the 99p, otherwise you can't leave neg feedback (I think), and he can't accuse you of non payment. Obviously he'll have to refund the 99p, but then that's more hassle for him

£5 postage as well though so if he gets grumpy and won't refund...

Have decided to email him tomorrow and say I'll still have it anyway damaged because the price is so looooooooow...

just so I can see what he says!

There were other items in the bundle which you'd think he'd have said 'the hotwheels is broken but the cars, larger car and dolly are ok shall I send those for your 99p' but no, he just says the auction has ended because one part of one of the items has broken. He has no intention of sending it to me for my 99p but I intend to make him squirm a bit first.
