item too small as incorrectly described am i entitled to a refund on postage to return

I bought an item described as 6 - 9 months but when it turned up it is 0 - 6 months so too small.
I know i can get a refund but does that incude the cost of me returning the item to her?
I don't think it's fair that i should be out of pocket when she listed the item wrong.

I don't think she has to, according to the rules, but if it was me I would. Ask her for a full refund and see what she says.

I think out of goodwill a seller would refund all your costs - I made a mistake with addresses when posting 2 items last summer I reimbursed all fees plus an enhanced repayment of repackaging and forwarding on the right parcel to the other person- I was severely out of pocket (almost £30 on low priced items) but it was my mistake and I paid.

You can ask, but like Zoe says, you aren't guaranteed it by eBay rules.

Sometimes in situations like this you are better off financially resellign it yourself rahter than paying to send it back, especially if you didn't pay much for it. I'd maybe go for a partial refund and sell it on.

I'm not au fait with all the rules BUT I can't see why you wouldn't be entitled to your postage costs back?

It's not like you don't like the item, or it is 6-9months as described but your baby is too big/small for the item so you want your money back

It clearly stated 6-9 months and you were given a 0-6 months. Does this mean that people can falsely (mistakenly or deliberately) advertise goods and the innocent buyer is out of pocket for returning the item? (not to mention the time/effort/packaging in posting it back)

I would say either they pay the return postage OR they refund your original payment and you get to keep the item, their choice.

thanks, i had already emailed her to say the size was wrong but she asked me to double check as apparently her 2 year old fit into it!!
My boy is 10 months, but 3 months prem, so he is teeny and even he can't fit into it now. No idea how her 2 year old could, although it also looks like it's been worn for 2 years
