Is it worthwhile trying to ebay a 'well-worn' Phil & Ted pushchair?

I want to get rid of a Phil & Ted e3 pushchair which is has taken a bit of a battering over the years(a few frayed bits on the cloth around the frame, couple of cuts in the foam on the handle, scuffs on frame etc). Obviously I'll be honest about its condition if I sell it and put in title that it's well-used.

I know that Phil & Teds usually sell for good prices, but is a worn one likely to sell? I'd be happy to get even a tenner or so for it, but OTOH I don't want to spend ages cleaning and listing it if it's not likely to sell. I'd be doing collection only.

The alternative is Freecycle.

I would have thought you'd be able to sell it on ebay. As long as you're honest about it's condition and it's reflected in the starting price I can't see a problem.

nope give it to me

tassisssss · 03/05/2009 14:33

definately worth it. i was looking for a cheap, old buggy just over a year ago and ended up getting a very battered double nipper (which i love). i'd also been obsessively watching P&Ts for months on ebay, but old cheap ones didn't seem to exist!

Honestly if you put a buy it now of £80 I bet it'll be gone in no time!

I'll buy it if your anywhere around the SW area

melpomene · 03/05/2009 15:21

That's encouraging, I'll clean it up and give it a go (I'm in Cambridge, not SW).

I also have the doubles seat, raincover and panniers which are in good condition - do you think I should bundle it together, or sell separately?

Bundle it together

Check Ebay before putting it on so you can get a good price for it.

I'd sell the panniers seperately if they are in good condition but I'd pop the doubles kit & raincovers altogether. You can buy new fabrics for the P&T quite cheaply.

Unless it's truly disgusting then you'd certainly get at least £130 I'd say, look at completed listings to give you an idea, and just let the auction run on. I fyou truly would be happy with just anything back then auction it, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

(if you have any mildew/black mould spots, esp on the bottom of the basket - treat it with dettol mould and mildew remover and it'll get rid of it all)

I sold my old E3 a couple of months ago for £225. And it had a couple of faults.

You could even sand the frame down and spray with hammerite smooth? Depends how much you can be bothered to do.
