Three bids but all for the same amount - how?

DP is watching some boots on Ebay that had a starting price of £5. So far three bids have been placed over thee days, all by the same bidder, and all for £5 - whats that about? Are they actually higher bids but only showing as £5?

it will mean that the bidder has gone back and upped their maximum bid - it will stay at £5 until someone else places a bid and then changed
