Selling at nearly new sales - what to charge?

Planning to take a load of clothes and sleeping bags to a nearly new sale organised by a local mums group. Not done it before and I'm at a complete loss as how to price things.

What is a reasonable asking price for something like a Next outfit, worn twice, cost £25 new?

Is there a rule of thumb like asking a percentage of original price (and what would you suggest) or is there a standard asking price for dresses, trousers etc?

Is there some stuff that it's not worth bothering with and just giving straight to charity?

I used to run the NCT ones and the advice I would give to new sellers is this.

Think who your potential buyers will be.
Some of them are looking to pick up bits and pieces as cheaply as possible because they have no choice (ie lack of money to spend). These people could buy from Primark, Asda, Peacocks, Toys R Us etc) so think how much they could pay from the item brand new but from a cheaper shop and adjust your price to make them buy from you instead.

The other potential buyer has more money and is looking for good quality clothes and items but will buy them secondhand to get a bargain. That person might pay more for a good make, designer gear etc.

I personally wouldn't use 'only worn once' really as secondhand is secondhand. 'Very good condition' or 'excellent condition' I think sounds better.

And also, decide how much you just want rid of what you've got. If you'd rather bring it back home than sell it cheaply then price higher but be prepared to be packing it up again. Or if you'd rather just be free from bags of clothes etc that you don't use any more then price to sell. And you can always change you prices during the sale if you find things are not selling.
Be prepared for people to take the mickey too and ask to pay 10p for something you have priced, reasonably, at £2. I bet there will be at least one.
