Has anyone worked out their profit (if any) on 99p items under the new fees regime

I'm just wondering if its worth listing items for 99p that are likely to go for 99p now that ebay has changed its commission structure - as once ebay and paypal take their cut is it worth the time to list/post? Just lazy, should do it myself (and will) but figured a mner may have done so already.

I would say worth listing if you can afford to sell them for only 99p.

Costs about 5p for fvf on 99p.
Costs a minimum of 25p for a paypal payment ?

Actual profit = 70p ?

I would think that bulk selling at this price is the only way to make money ( I have got 66 items on at the mo and the ones that get a couple of pounds probably sell because my stuff is getting noticed as I have a few things on at a time.
Plus it does not cost to put things on at 99p at the mo so relisting does not eat into the small profit.

you must of ticked the upgrade for featured gallery or enhanced ?

It would not let me list at all the other day without taking of the international postage.
I am registred on tazbar and ebid but never sold on them.

Ebay has tried to sneak the Gallery Plus option by me every time I listed recently.
I wonder if it is a ploy to get some of the money back.

Tortoise · 14/04/2009 19:26

Profit must have gone up a little now that auction listing is free.

I noticed when i listed recently that you have to unclick gallery. One way of them sneaking extra fees from those who don't check.

madamekoto · 14/04/2009 21:00

Final value fees are now 10%. I think its still best to start at the lowest you are willing to accept, if you only get one bidder its worth the fee.

I list through Auctiva, much easier. You get free templates and free scheduling so you can end your auctions at the best time, its fabulous and worth a look. Auctiva

Tortoise, your first picture is free now which is why it's ticked.

TimorousWeeBeastie · 16/04/2009 09:03

pebbles, ebay have sneakily added a tick in the gallery box, which costs 95p, not the first free photo! It happened at the same time the free listing came in, loads of people were caught out by it!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 16/04/2009 11:24

Use Auctiva, you can have as many photos as you wish for free and it's very clear with it's tick boxes for added features like gallery plus/highlighting etc.
