Bought CD, case damaged

I bought a CD album off ebay for 49p. It was stated as being in excellent condition. However when it arrived the case was broken. It had a big crack down the front and the circle bit inside that holds the CD was all broken.

It could have been done in the post but unlikely IMO. However they have 100% feedback.

Do I give them positive feedback but send a quick note to say the case was knackered (but CD was fine) or just leave positive feedback and not mention the case? I don't suppose I can complain since I only paid £49p for it can I?

i would complain to them, how would you feel if you'd just bought something expensive off the buyer as they had 100% feedback to discover it broken?
(thats what just happened to me)
i wouldnt leave bad feedback as such but i would say the item wasnt as described,

what do you want them to do?

yes, they described incorrectly and you should probably piont that out to them but as you say you only paid 49p

In my experience CDs do get damaged in the post unless the in cardboard like Amazon.

I've bought new CDs that are obviously new, and yet the CD has chipped in the corner or bits off the circle bit have broken off.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt to be honest, if it was me.
