eBay

smelly and seems counterfit, is it worth the hassle?

I bought a little boys zip up top on ebay last week, and i received it this morning.

It is really smelling of smoke, not so bad because it will obviously wash out. But it is also very bobbled and feels low quality, you cant make out the bobbles in the photo though, there is no CWF label and i can't see anywhere that looks like it has been cut off, plus all other labels are there so why would they only cut that one off. There is an extra 'Made in China' label with a RN at the bottom of it. The RN is usually on the CWF.

Is it worth the hassle of complaining or should i just wash it and keep it for play wear as i did get it for a bargain?

Why counterfeit, what did it claim to be ? Cheap imports often don't have 2 labels

It is a brand that usually has the Child Worldwide Fashion label on. As far as i know all real items have it on, well i checked a few items of ds clothing of the same brand and they all do anyway.
I thought cheap imports were made by fraudsters and are fakes anyway?
Could be totally wrong.

A lot of cheap imports are made under brands and licence - just because it carries a more expensive price tag doesn't make the actual item any better quality and is merely an opportunity to make a larger margin. Never heard of CWF so would n't cut much mustard with me anyway! Put it down to experience.

CWF is the label used on a lot of designer brands like Burberry LIZS.

ah so presumably the listing claimed to be something of that ilk but may not be ?

I would just keep it and use it for playwear. This has happened to me a few times on Ebay, mostly with Diesel stuff.

yes, it was sold as a genuine burberry hooded top, but i really doubt that it is genuine. Maybe bought abroad like you say, but not something of the same quality that i would buy from Frasers or something.
Ah well eh, live and learn.

That's the trouble with Ebay- too many fakes. I am still addicted though
