A couple of weeks ago, i noticed that t here were 4 items listed for sale on my ebay account - no decription, listed as 'a' and in dollers. i deleted them and put up for sale some of my own itmes for sale. i never thought any more about it, though i did change my password to something more complicated.

Now, i can't log in at all. ALl was well until Wednesday, and was able to log in using the new password, but now i can't get in at all. i've asked for a passwrod reminder twice, and also my user name reminder, and although the notice from ebay states that the reminders have been sent to my email address, i've not received any emails.

I'm in the process of sending out the goods that i sold, and have transfered the paypal funds to my account (not arrived yet) but worried that of someone can get my ebay details, they might be able to get other details, such as bank account etc.

Any ideas? Anyone else had this?

I've had this but never been able to get Ebay to respond to me at all. So far no problem with bank account or other things but I have changed all my passwords. Let me know if you have any luck resolving it.

THanks, Nolda, I'll let you know if this gets resolved. I've just done a search on my user name, and something else is for sale! I've sent an email to ebay about it, but i doubt I'll hear back.

I'm off to change all passwords to everything!

My OH's brother has this recently and someone was indeed using his account.

Get on to Ebay asap saying you suspect that your account has been hijacked. I'm not sure whether they will be able to access your bank details - I wouldn't have thought so, I'd imagine it's more about selling items that don't exist and getting people to send cheques or something.

Plus if you are a regular user of Ebay and your acccount has been hijacked they may be affecting your postive feedback rating which isn't good.

I had this a couple of years ago. Thye got my ebay account and also my email account but not paypal.

They sold 100 lap tops from the USA at $499 each and never delivered any. It was a pain to sort out and I had to stop using my email and ebay for a long time. Didn't affect my feedback though because ebay deleted everything that wasn't mine

If you use Paypal as well please check it and change your password there. I had this with Paypal which I only used to buy stuff on Ebay (not a seller). Paypal noticed the fraudulent transactions before I did, someone on ebay selling dollars I think - didn't really look. However Paypal 'investigated' the fraud while closing my paypal account, then re-opened it and allowed the same fraud through twice more. I was lucky in that I contacted my bank at the first instant and cancelled my Paypal account and card with the bank, so didn't actually lose out - but no thanks to Paypal.

Thanks for the info and advice - i've changed paypal and deleted the paypal direct debit that was set up so we could pay for stuff from our bank account. DH did some research last night and it looks like ebay just wash their hands from this kind of issue, they're just not interested. It's annoying having to start on ebay from scratch as we had a really good rating but I'd rather start over than be investigated for fraudlent bids or have my bank account wiped out.
