Best time of day/ week to list your auctions?

I'm having a wardrobe clearout and going to ebay a few items.

I'm sure I heard that it was better to list items so that the auction ends at the weekend - is this right?

Also, time of day? Any thoughts on this?

ideally so that the auction will end at about 6 or 7 on a Saturday or Sunday.

Any time when you think people will be online to bid though really, people have differing ideas of when is the best time.

Interesting! I will take that advice, many thanks.

I read somewhere that listing at 8.00pm on a Thursday for a 10 day auction is ideal. It means you have 2 full weekends for people to spot your item and then it finishes when people are usually at home to bid.

10 day auction! I barely have the patience for 7 days. I'm hovering and hitting refresh every few seconds. I couldn't take the anticipation of a ten day auction but obviously very good point about it covering two weekends.

I only surf ebay at work, and I've noticed my watcher numbers going up every lunchtime. The nation must be ebaying as they have their lunch!

I also list things to end on a Sunday evening. I try to list so that it finishes a bit later than 7 though because that is when I'm getting ds to bed and assume that others might be doing the same with their families.

I've heard others here say that week nights are better but haven't tried that yet.

I know what you mean about the excitment of it all. I spend every spare minute hitting refresh then start counting the total number of watchers across all my listings (I'm very sad!!). The worst bit is the last couple of hours, it's torture!!!!

Good luck with your auctions!!

Thanks mogs! Glad it's not just me adding up watchers and making endless calculations in my head

I've just sold some baby clothes midweek during to finish around 2 ish.

Every single auction had a flurry of activity within the last few minutes.

Also I was watching a maclaren buggy locally and it finished at 7 pm on a sunday night. We were driving home and I knew we wouldnt be home in time to bid and the darn thing went for £2.50 !!!!

I'm torn now between weekend and midweek
