Advice before putting feedback on ebay please.

I have just bought a lovely jumpsuit from a lady and the sale finished on the 15th Feb. She has charged me £3 p&p and stated that it would be posted first class. She has sent it in an old jiffy bag stuck down with sellotape and charged me £1.63 AND sent it second class. I even rang my friend at the local post office to check that 2PK meant 2nd class and it does!
I think she is taking the pee.......the jumpsuit is lovely but dont like being taken advantage of with packaging and posting........Someone else has given her good feedback but commented on expensive p&p before. Also she has sold 202 things in the last year and has 100% feedback, but only her last months feedback is available to view....is that normal,,,,,,,,, i thought you could view all feedback? Advice please.

If she said she would provide 1st then charged 2nd you are completely justififed in commenting. On the questio of the old jiffy bag tbh if I can reuse I will as I object to more packaging going into landfill athough I try to base my postage on what it will cost and the extra to get to the post office.

why not email her and question the postage

i have done this in the past and found it best to complain that they hadnt sent by the service they charged for

She is entitled to charge for packing and her time to an extent so complain about it being 2nd class rather than complaining about the second hand jiffy bag

if she doesnt apologise then maybe mention it in feedback. To be totally honest, I doubt she saved more than 20p or so sending it second class, so unless you want to harrass her for a refund for that .....

I always recycle my packaging and use sellotape. A jumpsuit surely doesn't need a box.

must say im another recycler of packaging as seems a waste to keep throwing things out this doesnt bother me when i receive recycled packaging

but it does annoy me when i pay for potage and its different i paid 7 pound for post one time and it turned up not well packaged out it was breakable so presumed it'd be boxed etc was supposed to be recorded and it came second class and postage was 2 pound something that really annoyed me

I'd be mildly annoyed, but I don't think I'd make an issue of it. You can work out for yourself whether the postage is likely to be expensive for what the item is, and you know that before you bid. Estimating postage is not an exact science -- sometimes the actual postage works out more expensive, sometimes a bit cheaper. I don't think a margin of £1.27 is outrageous, though I probably would refund a bit if someone requested it.

I wouldn't be annoyed by the price, or by the recycled packaging, I think what you've been charged is perfectly reasonable. I would be slightly annoyed that I had paid for 1st and got 2nd, but as someone has said the difference is only 20p, and the difference in delivery time is only 1 day. I wouldn't leave anything other than positive, although you could mention that she advertised 1st and posted second in your comment.

I think you are being a bit over the top to be honest. It really isn't the end of the world over £1.37 sheesh.

no i dont think its the cost thats cheeky, but it is cheeky to send somthing by a slower service

this happened to me where i paid for 1st class just before holiday period and the person sent it second class so it took days more than i had expected

but to be honest its nothing compared to some things that go on on ebay

What has annoyed me is that she states she will send first class and then sends it second class........if she doesnt want to send it first class then she should say so. The money thing isnt the issue its the first/second thing that has riled me......

Lots of little things on Ebay rile me. We need to get out more

trouble is, i suppose if it didnt really cause you a problem then its hard to know what to ask them to do about it

Ive just looked again and she said she includes petrol in her charges....... still doesnt explain her posting it 2nd class though. I think i will give positive but say in the feedback that she posted it 2nd but said she would post 1st.

always contact a seller first before leaving feedback - give them chance to rectify a problem.
Mistakes can happen and I for one would be annoyed if I received feedback before a message mentioning the error.
If she doesn't give a small refund and has attitude or whatever, 'then' you can mention it in feedback

She has just contacted me........said she was ill and got her boyfriend to post it. Hasnt offered to refund postage so think i will mention it in feedback!!

she probably didnt offer to refund postage because it would be for about 20p - she probably didnt see the point.
