Seller reports payment not cleared through paypal?

Any ideas welcome, I bought a buggy on ebay on Feb 1st and paid immediately with paypal. The transaction is showing as completed but seller emailed me today and said my payment has not cleared.
Has anyone else any experience of this?
Thanks.

Has it gone through as a E-cheque? Maybe they are trying to pull a fast one.

Ask them their pp address and double check it against the transactionto make sure they entered it correctly.

Hi thanks for responding, no no echeque showing, it is listed as an instant payment which has completed. Their pp name seems to tie in with their email and ebay names, I am beginning to think they are trying something fishy but not sure what?? Will wait and see I might have to buy another buggy though as am travelling alone longhaul next weekend with baby and toddler so need one if I am to survive

do they have a low feedback score? think ebay are holding funds for new sellers

SexyLacyKnickersOnMaHead · 07/02/2009 15:47

Not just new sellers South. They held a payment of £30 of mine untl I recieved +feedback and I have been a member 2 years

southeastastra · 07/02/2009 16:02

really? but some buyers don't even leave feedback do they. wonder what ebay would do in that circumstance.

SexyLacyKnickersOnMaHead · 07/02/2009 16:05

It gets released to you (wtf it's your money) when feedback has been left or 21 has gone by without a dispute.

Good job the buyers dont know about this or there would be lots of people getting their money back.

sixlostmonkeys · 07/02/2009 16:05

maybe the seller means she has transferred it into her bank account and it hasn't cleared into that yet. If this is the case she is wrong for making you wait. Ask her what she means

Hi they have 100% feedback but only 8 previous transactions so maybe that is it. I will email them back and suggest they check this out, thank you all I will let you know the result too.

I have had this before too. Twice in fact!
As soon as feedback by the buyer is left paypal will release your cash. Flipping Annoying though!

noshouting · 11/02/2009 22:42

Am so annoyed have waited in for two days for this buggy to arrive as seller promised they had sent it, I have just seen it relisted by them aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.
Have reported it but want to scream as I am travelling at the weekend on my own with two little ones and have no buggy!!

As a buyer you are protected by paypal, easiest and quickest way is to go into your paypal account and start a non received dispute, that way the seller will be notified and will have to sort or you get your money back. Doesn't help you not having a buggy but gets your payment sorted.

As for holding money until feedback received i think ebay would look on this very dimly - i work with a firm with over 20,000 feedback and have to accept the feedback given some people leave neg for very unfair reasons.
Anyway hope you sort it ok
