Ok not sure what feedback to leave.

I bid and won two Maternity bras from the same seller. I emailed to ask if they could send them together and reduce the postage costs. I heard nothing, I tried to e-mail again, but still no contact. I then just paid up, thinking I did bid and knew the postage before so my fault really.

However the seller, as soon as I paid sent an e-mail saying

"I have been ill, posting item today" - that was it.

Four days later received the bras, wrapped in a carrier, with 2nd class postage which cost £1.24. I paid £2.50 per bra. I am a little annoyed as the least they could have done was to send first class surely.

I know that this really was my fault, but am still a little annoyed at the seller, and not sure what feedback to leave. Any advice??

What postage did their auction say they would be using?

With ebay it is nice if people do reduce postage costs, but there is no reason why they should. I think if you really hope they will, you need to see that hey say they will ie in their auction listing, or ask them before the auction ends.

It is annoying, but probably one of those things. Are the bras in good condition etc? I think you should leave positive feedback if they are, but give a lower number of stars in the detailed feedback part.

I would e-mail the seller and see what she says. If it were me I would refund some of the postage into your paypal account. See what she says - what feedback has she had before?

They had advertised £2.50 per bra and said standard rate postage, and they are in really good condition.

I am kicking myself, as I know its my fault.

Their feedback is good, with only one comment about really high postage with neutral feedback. I wasn't sure if neutral was too harsh though, as I knew what I was doing, and the bras are in good condition.

I would still e-mail the seller as even if you only bought one bra the postage is too high. She should have sent them first class at the very least. You never know she might worry about neg feedback and refund you some of the cost.

If someone doesnt combine postage, then they shouldnt combine the items imho.

There is the option to leave specific feed-back re postage costs, if I remember correctly. So you could comment positively on the bras and mention high postage costs.

agree with what the other posters have said, but please don't forget that postage costs are for package and postage.

So she needs to cover the cost of her brown paper, envelope, bubble wrap, sellotape (or whatever she used) and possibly travel costs to the post office, or car parking fees when she got there.

Obviously, asking you to pay for her petrol and car park is ott, but there are more costs involved than just the price of a stamp.

I do think, though, that if she has been paid to post TWO things then she should post TWO things and not combine them in one parcel.

Leave positive feedback (given you are happy with item and you did commit to buy at that rate) but then on the "detailed feedback" thing put in a low star rating for postage. And comment (either there or in main feedback) on being charged two lots of £2.50 for one package.

or maybe she had to buy something in Tescos to be given a carrier bag, and that's where your postage and packing money went...

so that was £5 postage you paid then?? personally i think it is very off to have charged so much, i would email.

I would have refunded some P&P without them even asking me or as you said combined postage. I think they ripped you off on postage and it sounds like they knew that too...But thats how some people make their money on ebay.
