Selling faulty ipod and buyer wants the serial number??

Buyer has asked if it has come in contact with water - easy, no.

But should I let him have the serial number?

It's probably so he can you have a guarentee from Apple so he can get it repaired.

This ipod is more than 12 months old though. I am going to ask him why he needs it and go from there. Just seems a little suss to me but not sure why.

I wouldn't say its suss. He probably wants to repair it so maybe the serial number relates to the make/model/age so he knows whats what. Or he could be checking it's not been stolen.

I have asked him why and will see what he says. I know I can't repair it and have had the insurance money so can't really lose!!
