Who pays the postage to return an item that wasn't as described?

I won an auction for a "100% silk" rug, of course it arrives today and even from the weight of the parcel I could tell it wasn't silk. Sure enough, there is a label on the back that says "100% viscose".

So naturally I'm going to return the rug to the sodding time-waster. Do I have to pay the postage or does he?

I'm afraid that i think you have to pay postage. I'm not 100% sure though so hopefully this'll bump it for you and someone else will know for definite.

a good seller would pay the return postage. Even if it goes through dispute though the seller is not obliged to pay for the return.
remember to send it back trackable (more cost for you which is pants but at least they can't claim to have not received it)
