How long do you wait?

After you have paid for an item, how long do you wait to chase it if you dont recieve it?

I always wait at least 10 days,before sending a polite email, but my DH says I shouldnt wait so long - I have bought an Item for DS1's birthday and paid for the item 13 days ago, but its not arrived yet.

I'd send an email now.
Could be innocent, maybe it's just delayed in the post/ she couldn't get to PO etc but 2 weeks is a long time and a friendly email can't hurt
