I've asked the seller to reinvoice and add monies for recorded delivery. Is that reasonable?

She just re-sent the original invoice with no extra added.

I'm not covered am I unless I ask for it to be sent recorded delivery?

im not sure what you mean but if item gets lost in post then seller refunfds you and they get money back from royal mail

if its an expensive item then ask for her to end recorded but she may not know the cost and should have asked really before buying item so cost can be found out ask her nicely to find out cost for it to be sent recorded and you will pay her the cost

but if just a normal item of not much value then it shouldn't matter

the buyer isnt at a loss but he seller would be if not sent recorded if expensive as they only refund up to 36 pound on normal delivery buyer isnt at a loss at all

Lauriefairycake · 21/01/2009 15:05

cost is only an extra 0.93 for recorded - I told her that in case she didn't know. It was on buy it now - it's £2.50 for her postage already

Thanks for that - I just hate it when things go amiss in the post

either way your still covered the only thing with recorded is you can track it and compensation is more but if item isnt worth an awful lot then normal post as buyer can claim after 15 days and refund you your money anyway

recorded delivery etc is for the seller's benefit not the buyer's. If it gets lost the seller has refund (if you pay with paypal)

Compensation is no more than ordinary post (for rec del) so another option may be required if worth more or is glass/jewelry etc - but this is the seller's problem not yours.
