PayPal payment I sent is unclaimed.

I have just won some GHD straighteners and paid by PayPal as on the listing but it said the payment is unclaimed. Several reasons for this, one of them being he isn't registered for PayPal. So, I have cancelled the payment to save it from getting lost and E-Mailed him to let me know when he is able to receive payments. Was this the right thing to do?

He has a 0 feedback BTW but am trusting him as he has to start somewhere.

Thank you, am hoping it will sort itself out. Been conned far too many times on Ebay, should have learnt a lesson really.

He may have typed his paypal address wrong

HumphreysCorner · 16/01/2009 20:57

He has just E-Mailed me to say there is nothing wrong with his PayPal and asked me to send the payment again which I have. It is still coming up unclaimed so will wait and see.

Ask him to confirm his address to you i have had this where one digit was wrong.

HumphreysCorner · 16/01/2009 21:01

Actually, when I look at the E-Mail to confirm payment sent there is a bit on the bottom telling him to confirm his E-Mail address and put in a number they have quoted so that must be it.

When my friend started selling she didn't realise she actually had to claim, just assumed it went straight into account. Her paypal account had been used for a couple of years by then.

As it's his first transaction he could be the same.

HumphreysCorner · 17/01/2009 09:06

Thanks all, have had a message saying he has sorted it so have sent the payment again. 3rd time lucky eh. Have cancelled 2 of the payments so hope they do actually get cancelled.

Humphreys Please be careful as there is a known scam on Ebay and I think GHD straighteners is one of them. I don't want to worry you in case this is a genuine instance, but I recently had problems with hackers getting into my email account and my ebay account and buying and selling goods that I didn't want or have! It was all a bit scary but thankfully Ebay were able to sort it out. Might be worth contacting them to get them to check out the seller, if they can do that?
Good luck x

HumphreysCorner · 17/01/2009 09:46

Thanks for that, hope I'm not conned again.

Looks like there are loads of fake GHDs being sold on there. How on earth will I know if the ones I have bought are fake? Panic, panic! That is if I actually receive them of course.
