I never have before (but then I've never had a problem before!)
I bought a turkey baster before Christmas - it arrived, looked fine, I was happy. When I used it, it melted. I emailed the seller to tell her - it's an ebay shop so it's not that she had one and never used it, iyswim, although I was giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming they probably didn't know it wasn't fit for purpose (perhaps they should advertise it as suitable for procreation purposes ) - I've received no reply and it has been a fortnight. I didn't expect a refund but a small apology would have been nice!

If it's an ebay shop you have the same rights as if you had bought it from the high street.
email her again, she might be closed for the holiday period and ask for a refund, if nothing open a dispute via ebay's rules.

eBay might require you to mail it back. I would fight that too...through the dispute console you can fax pics of the item in question. I say prove it was not a fit item and request full refund without returning.
