should I open a dispute?

I sold some perfume on ebay on 17th dec. Clearly stated in listing that I would not post until payment had cleared. Buyer sent me an email on the 18th asking for my address to send a cheque to, and could I send it ASAP as they needed it for christmas. I emailed them back with my address and a note saying that I states clearly in the listing that I would not send until payment had cleared, however if they wanted to send a postal order, then I would send the perfume as soon as I recieved it. Got no reply, but they marked it as 'payment sent' on the 20th December. Still heard or recieved nothing so I sent this on the 6th Jan:
hello. Could you tell me when you sent the payment please? As of yet I have still not recieved it. I can appreciate that it has been christmas and post may have been delayed, but it has been nearly 3 weeks since you won the item now and I haven't heard from you since you asked for my address. Also, if it has been lost then you would want to know so you can try and track it/cancel the cheque if it doesn't turn up soon. Thanks.

Still no reply or anything. They have only had 3 transactions on ebay. 100% though.

Should I file for an unpaid item or open a dispute?? I think I have given it long enough to hear something back from them? Do you think?

You could open a dispute but will find that it won't get you your money unfortunately. I sold something and the buyer never did pay despite promising to. I opened a dispute but if the buyer doesn't respond within a certain time it is case closed!

HTH

hmm. am wondering whether just to send an email asking them if they still actually want the item because looking at what else they have bought, they have bought something similar to mine. if they don't want it then I don't care, I will relist it, but its just not knowing I suppose!

but if you open dispute you will get your fee's back. do it, 3 weeks is long enough

AnAngelWithin · 11/01/2009 16:44

oh i didnt realise i could get my fees back. not that they are much but might as well if I am entitled to. Thanks.

open dispute will either make them cough up so as to avoid a strike or you get your fees back and can do second chance offer if applicable.

I would file the non-paying bidder strike and be done. Too much time has passed and the buyer is too unreliable to count on mailing a payment. eBay has time limits and to try to follow through on this transaction may cost you. Do a NPB strike and get your FV fees back.

i opened a dispute and they emailed back saying that the item had been bought without their consent. yet they bought and paid for a similar item the day after they supposedly bought mine, it just seems that now i have actually complained they are trying to get out of it. I think they were hoping if they ignored me then I would just forget about it! i don't know what to do now. The balls in my court about it as thay have now responded to my complaint.

don't do anything if they refuse to pay they get a non payment strike you get refund!

AnAngelWithin · 15/01/2009 14:30

it says:

Case type: Unpaid item
Case status: Your action needed.
Please respond to the buyer or close the case.

Is this in the resolution centre or have you proceeded to dispute ??

ilove · 15/01/2009 14:35

Close the case using the "I have no option but to end communication" button. You will get a fee refund they will get an unpaid item strike.

AnAngelWithin · 15/01/2009 14:38
