Help deciding on feedback?

I just need some help deciding about what feedback to give. I just recieved an item i won and payed for 3 weeks ago. That to me, even which Christmas and New Year seems an excessive amount of time. I understand it's a busy time of year for people but surely you shouldn't list things to sell if your too busy to send them? The item was sent within the UK.

I emailed the seller a week ago to ask if the item had been sent out and i got a reply a few days ago to say the item had just been sent.

I don't use ebay alot so i am wondering if this is a standard amount of time or not?

Hello, wait to recieve the item and check what condition it is in. I would avoid leaving bad feedback whenever possible but all depends on the circumstances. I'd understand something not being posted the week of christmas and new year but two and a half weeks is the longest I've ever been made to wait. If the item is in great condition then I would still leave possitive feedback but when scoring state that postage took a little too long.

check what ebay policy is on delivery times - if, for example it was 30 days it would be unfair to leave negative for it.

A seller has 7 days from the date of cleared payment to send an item.
Was your payment a cheque or an echeque (via paypal)

If it was an instant payment then really the seller took too long. Can you work out the date of your cleared payment and then work out when the PO was actually open after this?
I'm guessing payment was made the weekend before xmas (?) and the seller has simply waited until after the new year to post. The seller shouldn't have done this.

If this is the case, and there was no communication from the seller explaining a possible delay then I'd say a neutral with something like "no communication and 3 week delay in posting"

Check the posted date. The delay could be Royal Mail's, in which case, negging the seller could be unfair.

I paid via paypal and my bank statement said the money went out on the 18th December. I emailed the seller last Friday (2nd) to see if it had been sent out (to make sure it wasn't Royal Mail being slow) and i got a reply Tuesday to say they had just posted the item.

I recieved said item today and it was in good condition but i am annoyed it took so long.

i would leave a neautal, saying item was as described but postage took a while.

Are you sure your payment went through as an instant transfer and not an echeque? Echeques can take over 2 weeks to clear - in which case delivery time was reasonable. If it was an instant transfer then I would leave nuetral for slow delivery.

you need to check the details on paypal - it will tell you whether it was instant or echeque. If it pulled money from your bank then it could be echeque in which case due to clearing times and bank holidays etc her dispatch was acceptable.

I checked the details and it said the money went staight to the seller on the 18th December, the day i won and payed for the item. By the looks of things they didn't send the item until after the new year.
