My dad won an ipod dock thingy for £1.20
£12 postage (but his call he bid on it silly old man lol)
newbie seller feedback of 1

dad was chuffed to win it for such a low value
however....seller immed sent strange email saying its broken now my daughter has put a crayon through it when I wasnt looking and begging not for a negative . I read the email it didnt seem genuine... a very odd email....

My dad said may I have a photo please of the damage (was calling her bluff) she ignored and replied why is your paypal payment on hold anyway?

He paid straight away by paypal he doesnt know why its on hold. cos she is a newbie??

How does he go about stopping her getting the cash and he is cross he thinks she is at it cos it sold for so little (espec as no photo was forthcoming)

Bet she relists it!

Can ykou talk me through what to tell him to do please thanks!!!

He want to leave her feedback saying BUYER BEWARE AND THE SITU how should he phrase it? neg? neutral?

THANKS

the moeny will be on hold for her until she sends the item or your dad leaves postitive feedback. its because she is new/lowfeedback/bad feedback (delete as apprioate)

can he cancel the payment.

mumofdjandSNOWbabies · 20/12/2008 20:03

can he cancel the payment really?

wont he then be able to be accused of being a non paying bidder

i think he can recall the payment through paypal? or ask her to refund it to him through paypal, and to do a mutual agreement not to go through with the sale.

she sounds like she would be a PITA to deal with.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 20/12/2008 21:02

I would tell her i expect delivery of item as listed. (It will be on hold as she has low feedback being newbie. If she refunds your dad 1p , a glitch she will likely release funds)
Or tell her you will have to open a dispute for failing to send item. Don't take money back as could be done for non paying bidder.
Call her bluff your dad is protected it is up to her.

Othewise he can agree to mutually withdraw from sale and she can get all her fees back and your dad can get refund.

mygirllollipop · 21/12/2008 11:13

If she is a new seller she might not be set up on paypal to accept payments.

sixlostmonkeys · 21/12/2008 11:41

He can reply to her saying that the payment is on hold as she is new and until she receives a positive feedback it won't be released for her.
He should ask again for a photo.
In the end he will have to raise an item not received dispute and he will then be refunded.

Don't go for mutual withdraw. She is backing out due to the low price and also her postage is way over the top (but like you said he did agree when he bid....but still)
She will have to learn the hard way tbh.

By opening a dispute he will get his refund - either she can refund or paypal will do it for her.

If she communicates well and refunds immediately he could leave a neutral. If she doesn't then a neg isn't out of the question. something like "refused to sell due to low price. poor communications"
