Just found this on Ebay, was looking for one of those newborn inserts for prams and came across This

It says it is to make forward facing seats safe for a newborn but that's against the law is it not? And it clearly shows on the labvel that it's just a little padded insert for the britax first class nothing to do with making forward facing safer just supposed to be used when rear facing to support baby.

Am worried someone whomight not know any different will buy this and put there newborn in it a forward facing thinking this will protect them.

Am I being daft and pernickety or am I right?

Might report I don't know what to do though.

I would report TBH. the date on the photo is 2037!!! maybe its a device from the future LOL!!

I was abit at that too because the label says Britax and it shows a Britax chair yet she says she doesnt know

Definitely report. If that was used in a forward facing chair for a new born then it could be fatal - even in a minor bump.

Have you reported it? It might be worth messaging the seller too, to let them know that it would be dangerous. It's clearly her being thick rather than sneaky.

we had this insert for our Britax car seat. As far as we understood, the insert was for the newborn but the seat had to be placed rear facing (as it should be) then when the baby weighed enough, the seat was turned to be forward facing and the insert removed.

it's just an insert and still has to be used when the seat is rear-facing.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 19/12/2008 14:53

So it is just the case that she needs to make it clear in her listing that that is what it is for.

justneedsomesleeppleasesanta · 19/12/2008 14:57

it is misleading the way she has worded it. I hope she has used it correctly herself. It's an insert, not a seat substitute and not recommended for forward facing. Yes, the seat can be used forward facing, but only when the child is bigger! And by then it will have outgrown the insert anyway!

Have sent seller an email explaining why I was letting her no and told her what it actually was to be used for.

Hopefully she will listen
