Anyone care to join me for a rant about buyer's feedback?

Am a newbie seller so good feedback important to me. So far have had good feedback but have noted the following:

Have got only 4.8 stars out of 5 for communication. I always email the buyer straight away to say thanks for purchase/payment, I will be sending you the item on such and such a day etc. I always respond to questions as soon as I see them and I log on every day- short of having the bloody computer switched on all the time, I can't do more.

Have only got 4.7 stars for packaging and posting. How????? I am crap at estimating P&P, don't want to take the piss so nearly always end up underestimating it and making a loss. The most I have ever made on P&P charges is about 50p. I always bubble wrap stuff as well (OK, don't pay for that as my mum nicks it for me from her work)

Have only got 4.8 stars for delivery time. I always (and I mean always, no exceptions) post the next day after payment. I even trudged up to the post office in all that snow we had to get people's things out to them. I can't help it if Royal mail are slow. Short of getting in my car and delivering the farking item myself, what more can I do???

Anyway, I feel better now!

Dont let it get to you and stop underestimating postage and losing on it! You will notice that very few folks do.
You know you are good. Ignore the stars!

communication - you can be marked down for communicating too little or for communicating too much.

Dispatch - buyers confuse dispatch with RM delivery

P&P - sellers offering Free p&P get marked down. Also, it's not just the difference in stamp v p&p they paid that they will grumble about about, it is often the amount the RM charge for postage.

Item as described - I know of a seller who only got 3 stars for this and the feedback said "Only 3 stars for Item as described because the condition is better than stated

In other words - you can't win!

I offer free p+p and still get marked down (have grumbled about it before!). Also if you are a new seller your stars will only be judged on a few feedbacks, so it only takes one person to give you bad stars to pull the rest of them down. Don't let it get to you - ebay sucks for sellers at the moment!

some people see 3 stars as normal, so unless you do soemthing spectacular for them, 3 stars is all you will get!
