Have listed an item in auction but someone wants to Buy It Now

I've put a handbag in eBay in normal auction format. There are 9 watchers and bids are currently up to £15-ish and it runs until 21st December.

Someone has emailed to ask me if they can Buy it Now as he wants it for a Xmas present and wants to make sure it gets there in time. I'm fairly happy about this as I'd like it out of the way too but how do I actually do it, or is it against eBay policy?

You can't because there are bids on it. You could do it if there were no bids.

the only way you can do this is cancel the auction saying the item is lost or damaged then the bids are canceled you then can sell to him direct with a paypal invoice be sure to get the contact details as ebay block emails through the seller messages if they think an item is being sold outside the auction.also you will only be covered by paypal not ebay and vise versa good luck!

would leave it on ebay - you have bids so it will sell. You don't know the buy it now person & if he changes his mind you'll lose out.

Could I get him to bid at the price he is proposing to pay for But It Now and then stop the auction early? Found this on eBay:

Now I've had another email from someone else wanting to buy it now. If it were any other time of year I'd definitey see the auction through but as there is a deadline with Xmas I don't know what to do?

I would leave it tbh if people are asking for xmas they will be expecting you to get it to them for xmas and i am having real delays on ebay items arriving at the moment!
You will sell and they know when it ends it's unlikely to be there in time for xmas!!

Hhmmmm tough one - you can as you say get the person who wants the BIN to bid & if he then becomes the higest bidder you can choose to end the auction to current highest bidder then adjust the invoice to the agreed price.

However at this time of year the only way you can guarantee it arriving for Xmas is to send Special Delivery.

The person could enter their bid & still not be the highest bidder & then you have a disgruntled bidder on your hands as you 'promised the item to him' but obviously out of your hands.

Also if 2 people have now asked for a BIN the chances are you're going to get a VERY good price for it & they know it!

Oh I don't know what to do! Got three asking for BIN now. It's only at £16-ish at the moment and have got BIN offer for £60-£70. Don't want to be greedy (but really need the cash) and don't want to mess anyone about. Am really bad at strategic thinking. Help!!!!!!!!

Auction finishes on 21st which is Sunday last date for Special Delivery is 23rd so maybe I should let it runs its course and just email everyoen who is asking for BIN to tell them if they win and pay Secial Delivery rate I'll post it on Monday 22nd then it will get there on 23rd. Is that sensible?

Hoho i would do that but state the best postage you could offer is special if they are prepared to pay but you can't guarantee xmas delivery up to them!
You don't want a disgruntled customer if you do a bin and it doesn't arrive as they unlikely to want to pay any extra delivery and post is very slow!
If you have 3 bin it will sell and they will likely bid , hold on!
