Having problems listing

It's been a while since I sold anything on Ebay.

I am trying to list an item, usually use bog-standard format.

I have quite a lot of text and although it is nicely spaced out when I input it, when I save and preview it has all run together, looking awful and difficult to read.

But I can't work out what to do to improve the presentation.

Someone please help!!!

I don't want fancy borders, i just want it be able to be read clearly.

Thanks

Go back to edit it.

If you are using the old seller form, it may not give you the option to use standard formatting (ie Word-type formatting menu), as opposed to html formatting.

At the top of your description box where you enter the text of your listing, are the two tabs: one says 'Standard' and the other 'HTML'.

No Standard or HTML tabs on the one I'm looking at?

Ah, you can do future listings with the new seller form: On the top right of the eBay home page, click on 'Selling'.

For the existing one, you will have to learn some simple html coding. I am a bit crap at this but at least know how to add paragraphs:

To insert a para, type between the sentences.

Anything else in particular you want to do? I keep it simple ie use capitals and paragraphs.

Someone else would be better at this and come along to help.

I have just tried redoing the whole thing with the new quick seller form and same problem applies!

Surely ebay don't expect all their users to be HTML-literate?

this is so frustrating -- it used to be really easy!

aaagh!!!

Hi sophy, did you click on the 'Standard' tab? It should bring up a text editor on the top of the description which has one row of basic text functions, like bold, italics, underline, font etc

sophy · 01/12/2008 12:33

I couldn't see a Standard tab.

However, I have followed your advice re HTML and now seems to be working fine.

Thank you, thank you

Gobsmacked though that ebay have made it so difficult!

I use turbo lister, it's a lot simpler for my simple brain!! Also, you can use the borders for free!
