How long should I wait?

Hoping for some advice, I won an item on the 6th November and paid by cheque sending it the day after the listing ended (7th). The seller stated in her listing that she could only post on Saturdays so I knew that it would be a long transaction to complete, waiting for the cheque to clear etc....

The seller e-mailed me on the 18th advising the cheque had cleared and the item would be sent on the 22nd by 1st class post, I still haven't received it yet and wondered how long I should leave it before contacting the seller. Wouldn't usually worry as I pay by paypal but on this occasion my mum wanted to pay and gave me a cheque for it instead, where do I stand if it doesn't turn up?

Thanks in advance

Have you emailed to check it has actually been sent? She might have had a problem and not sent yet or maybe it is lost in the post. i would give it a few more days if it has benn sent.

The last contact I had from the seller was on the 18th saying she would post on the 22nd. Have sent an email now asking if the item was sent last weekend as I haven't received it yet.

Thanks for replying.

Hope they reply and you get your item soon.

If the item is lost in the post, the seller should have a proof of posting which you'll be able to use to make a claim from the post office.

I think it would be OK to send a friendly email just saying you want to double check it has been sent as you haven't received it yet. You could ask if there's a Royal Mail dispatch number so you can chase it up yourself perhaps.

My recent parcel took four weeks. The problem was all at my end and the stamp clearly stated she'd posted it ages ago. I've been having a nightmare with our post lately and have complaine to Royal Mail.

Thanks everyone who replied, the parcel turned up today and had the posting date as the 29th Nov so it hadn't been sent for a week after the date she gave me. Unsure if I should put that in feedback as she may have had a valid reason not to have sent it in the 11 days following the cheque clearing but couldn't let me know.
