Im so , i have been selling on e-bay for 4 years, recycling the dd's clothes and toys, making a bit of cash to cloth my children and myself.

In the last month i have had 3 people who havn't payed up, 1 bit of bad feedback and 1 person moaning as they seen the item cheeper in a shop.

I now have a person who sent me a e-mail after the auction saying ' I didn't realise this item went for this amount so i will have to send a cheque 1st class' (fair enough but she must have placed the bid/winning amount), i have now been waiting 7 days for this so called cheque that was sent first class and she's not responding to my e-mails.

I cant be too harsh on her as she can leeve me bad feedback but because of new e-bay rules i cant leeve her bad feedback.

E-bay is shite.

Rant overe

Meant to say- I'm the same as you and buy and sell a bit of old stuff but am trying to clearout before Christmas and have sold over 10things in the past month so have now got my "detailed f/b" thing showing. I have not posted one thing that I haven't lost money on postage wise, and yet only have 4 stars for it! WTF? My Mum sold 12 books post free and didn't get 100% for that bit either!

kiltycoldbum · 23/11/2008 14:37

its just not worth unless your selling something expensive that was given to you for free! After ebay have taken their cut, paypal taken their cut and youve paid the fees and postage your left with nothing. I sold 15 items of girls clothing all Caitimini, Gap, Monsoon etc all brand new or worn once or twice and take all the fees etc away i made £4.

You feel rather despondent after that.

Just got an e-mail from her (so called) daughter, saying her mum was taken into hospital with kidney failier on sat and shes unsure if she sent the cheque before she was ill. Not sure if i believe this as she e-mailed me last monday saying she would sent tuesday first class, i think she realissed she bid too much and doesn't want it. I will offer it to the next bidder tommorrow as i need the money.

Realy fed up with e-bay, maybe i should do a boot sale instead.

Do you have to wait the 7 days to do that? (just asked about this on other thread!) x

Marne · 23/11/2008 17:07

You have to wait 8 days (which is tommorrow), which is a PITA as the next bidder has probably gone out and bought the item somewhere else.

Yes, that's what I thought. I've now got 3 emails from MrSchtoopid asking for my bank details (yeah, right, do I look like I'm from Planet Moron as well?) so he can pay me directly into my a/c. sigh.
Pah. Wanted to use the money for a Barbie computer as well....

SoupDragon · 23/11/2008 18:05

What do you think he's going to do with your bank details??? He only needs sort code, account no and a name and these are freely available to anyone you send a cheque to.

JerricaBenton · 23/11/2008 19:51

omg bucharest! id be biting his hand off! its a dream to get a buyer who wants to pay direct into the bank!

Bucharest · 24/11/2008 08:17

Not in Italy it's not! Here he could do anything...(well, he couldn't, because there's no money there lol)
Anyway- he's withdrawn and MrSensible has already paid me so off to PO.x

I bought some kids things & agreed a combined postage. Then I got the invoice email from the seller with the normal postage for all items (was a huge amount)! I email back that we had agreed combined postage & get an email back saying if I insist than they'll make a loss on postage. There's no way thay'll make a loss btw. Obviously there will be some negative feedback on the way.
