Too Stupid for Ebay!

JerricaBenton · 11/11/2008 19:33

Anyone feel like sharing their experiences with people TSFE (too stupid for ebay!)?

Sold an item on at, they paid 8pm Sunday (paid for 2nd class) and got a message from them this morning asking why, since they have paid already, had their item not arrived yet??

Grrrr!

Why does a seller posts feedback saying that my postage is slow when it clearly states on my listings that I only do a post run once a week.

Lauriefairycake · 11/11/2008 19:37

someone 'paid' be echeque on Sunday at midnight

and they emailed me yesterday asking if it would be with them today

"No, it takes 9 days to clear into my paypal account*

"can't you send it anyway, I want it now"

"No, unfortunately I want to be paid for it first"

"If you insist on slow delivery I will be leaving you a negative"

Guess who's trying to the cancel the transaction

JerricaBenton · 11/11/2008 19:44

good for you LFC!

My buyer has just responded to my nice polite email explaining that after paying *pm on a sunday for 2nd class postage, its near impossible for him to have recieved the item by now, i got "today is tuesday"!!! GRRRRR

What do i say to that?

OP posts:
JerricaBenton · 11/11/2008 19:46

Purly, I got a neutral that says "great item" !!

I sold a DVD. It stated clearly (in 3 places) that it was region 1.

Bidder wins auction, I send the item immediately.

Bidder recieves item, sends email saying "I want a refund because this DVD is the wrong region".

I say "It said in the listing that it was region 1. Is it not region 1?"

"Yes, it's region 1. I want a refund!"

eBay is such a waste of time when you have to deal with this stuff for the sake of £2 or similar.

sarah573 · 11/11/2008 21:35

Where to start!

I got a nuetral which said 'Nice item slow delivery' 3 days after the item closed, and 2 days after they paid for it! When I pointed this out by email the buyer said that they had paid for first class and therefore expected next day delivery.

AND - I charge FREE postage on handmade items that I sell. I have only EVER given free postage on this account, no one has ever paid me a penny for postage, and yet my stars for postage are only at 4.8. So which wally is not giving me 5 stars for free postage FFS!!!!!!

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 11/11/2008 21:53

I sold a pair of "Cars" slippers a month or 2 ago. They were in really good condition, apart from a little scuff at the front of one of them as DS2 out grew them within 2 weeks of me buying them - and he hardly wore them anyhow.

She emailed me to say that they "had a hole in them and were totally unusable so had thrown them in the bin"

I replied to say if she'd like to retrieve them from the bin and return them to me I would happily refund.......

Oddly I never got any response apart from a positive feedback stating "not quite what I expected" WTF???

threetinytots · 11/11/2008 22:06

Oooh, a place to rant about all those stupid ebayers!

Postage is my main one. One item was bought on a BIN, took them 4 days to pay, paid late at night and by mid afternoon the next day they wanted confirmation that their item had been posted! I mean, do they think I do nothing else with my life apart from sit on the PC waiting for people to decide when to pay and then rush out to the PO or wait in all day for a courier!

Oh, and e-cheques are another. Similar to yours LFC.

Have also been called a dishonest seller because DHL failed to deliver in 48 hours. Hardly my fault.

And I really want to be as rude to these people as they are to me, but I can't just in case they leave me a negative. But they can be a bleedin rude and demanding as they want and they still get a positive. ARrrgghhhh!!

Ok, rant over.

PortAndLemon · 11/11/2008 22:14

Jerrica -- link them to Royal Mail site which states "Second Class mail aims to deliver your letter or packet by the third working day after posting, including Saturday" and suggest that they contact the Royal Mail if they want to discuss their idea to make it a next working day delivery instead?

MsPontipine · 11/11/2008 22:19

Not me personally but this always makes me titter - buyer left negative feedback for a cd they had bought
"Not as good as their last album!!"

cheesesarnie · 11/11/2008 22:20

i had a seller the other day email me 2 minutes after i won something.when and how are you paying?

give us a chance love.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 11/11/2008 23:33

I sent someone an email straight after they'd won (well didn't see the point in waiting when I was at the computer at the time) asking how they would be paying and when they would be coming to pick up the item.

Didn't see the point in sending an invoice for paypal if they were paying CoC (which they did - and extremely promptly too )

solidgoldbrass · 11/11/2008 23:48

Oh, the buyer who didn't pick up her (recorded delivery) item from the post office, who sent it back to me. So I emailed her and asked if I had her address correctly - she asked me to send the item again (didn't offer any extra postage though). I sent it again, thought nothing more of it - about a month later she registered a dispute with Ebay and left me a neg saying I had not sent the item. I responded saying that I had posted it a second time even though she had not paid extra postage, and that perhaps she should check with the post office herself - and replied to the neg feedback saying she should have contacted me before leaving it.
Still it is the only neg I ever had (out of 120) but I wasn't pleased.

Love your name OP. My top selling item on Ebay ever was a Jem no8 or something that I got over £70 for

JerricaBenton · 12/11/2008 13:34

solid - no way! i might have to dig out all my old Jem stuff!

OP posts:
wickedwitchofthesoutheast · 12/11/2008 22:46

completely irrelevant to the actual post but I used to have every single jem doll as a child, literally every single one

when I got into the witches as a slightly older child, I cut all their toes off and chopped off their hair...

gutted

lol

cheesesarnie · 13/11/2008 21:29

nope no golf clubs here!

MrsMagooo · 14/11/2008 07:14

I had someone email me about a pram I was selling which was BN & they simply said 'I don't want to spend £170 when I can get it from Kiddicare for £200'

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 14/11/2008 07:32

Oh I had one, she was incredibly stupid but also completely insane as far as I could tell.

I bought some dolls, to be shipped from America - she saw me coming ended the acution early for me, and anyway, a couple weeks went by - nothing arrived. I emailed her, asking for tracking - no tracking was given. She kept saying she had sent them, they should take a few weeks, and eventually I got a really bad feeling about it and I stopped hearing from her. So I opened a dispute, and she got really mad at me - she said her husband was leaving her because of the dispute, and she was actually sick and she was dying. And all I need to do to 'stop this now' was to go into my paypal account and close the dispute

Tempting to stop the insane emails, actually - but she went ballistic, and this was $600 we were talking (thanks f*ck for paypal that time)
She sent them 'tracking' which was completely non existant, then admitted to me they were not tracked because she had wanted top save money.
I got my money after 4 weeks, the dolls never did arrive - I doubt they were sent - and apparently I made her lose her husband and her health, it was all my fault.

I left her a neg the night before the feedback date ran out, so she couldn;'t respond.
It was so stressful.

luckychelle · 14/11/2008 07:45

I had a neutral once from a seller that went,

"Paid instantly, but no comms or feedback. CLAIMED was having a baby. Yeh right!"

What did I buy? A bundle of newborn clothes.

JerricaBenton · 14/11/2008 08:11

LOL!

Some people must just be mental!

OP posts:
squilly · 14/11/2008 11:52

How about the woman who neutralled me for sending an item...the post label had clearly dropped off, so she had to pay postage when it arrived. She didn't email me to advise, but just neuts me about having to pay the postage. Between us, we've paid for that darned thing to be posted 3 times!!! She paid me, I paid Royal Mail and then she paid Royal Mail again! AAAGGGHHH!!

How about the Ebay seller who refused to send my item cos he didn't get enough money for it??

Or the US buyer who paid buttons for postage (because of a mistake I'd made) We paid for surface shipping, because of this, told her it could take up to 56 days for delivery. 2 weeks later she chases us up. We advise, it's going to take a while. 4 weeks later she leaves a neut, saying slow shipping! Beatch! She'd left 2 other sellers neuts for backing out of transactions. Wish we'd just done that now.

Or the buyer who asked me if I'd post to Ireland and how much would shipping be, didn't wait for a response, then bought it anyway 4 hours later! Unforutnately, shipping was £75 because the item is huge!!

Now she won't come back to confirm that we'll be mutually withdrawing. I'm awaiting my negative feedback stoically.

Oh, that feels good. You can't pay for therapy like this

Fiveplusbump · 14/11/2008 12:00

I bought a monsoon top for my dd ,when it came it was awful stank of smoke and was all bobbly.
So I politley emailed and asked for a refund my email back was

"f you you snotty cow if you wanted perfect condition you should have gone and bought a new one you are only at an online car boot sale"

I asked again for a refund and told her she had never stated it was a mess and would it really have hurt to wah it first.

I then get a reply

"If you neg me I will come and find you and rip your throat out"

Reported her to ebay and police and left her a neg never got a refund but I still have a throat .

MsPontipine · 14/11/2008 12:18

Oooh she doesn't sound like a Monsoon kind of lady!
