Would a seller having a shop photo rather than a photo of the actual item they are selling put you off?

I think if you explain in your listing and offer to send a real photo to any interested bidders if they wanted that would be fine.
Am presuming it's brand new anyway!

I think so long as its brand new it won't matter at all.

As a buyer, yes it puts me off. There is no harm in showing both photos, one now, then adding the other one. It makes me think that there might be something wrong with your one. It can be hard though, to photograph clothes well so both images could work.

I reckon think a good quality pic sells the item better (even if only working on people's subconscious).

If you can manage a great quality home pic then all well and good, but I reckon a shop pic is better than a home pic which doesn't show the item off to its best. If you have described the item as new with tags, and your ratings are good, then I reckon stick with the shop pic as the main pic.

If the item wasn't new, I would be more likely to want to see its condition. but for new, don't bother I reckon!
