Ebay etiquette help please

Sorry namecchanged as Im a bit asking about this!

Im new to selling on Ebay and was reading about 'dropselling'

Basically it entails advertising something for sale and when you get an order then you order it from a 3rd party and make a small profit.

For example, I might advertise 10 copies of a book on my listing. When someone clicks my BIN for £20, I go to Amazon and buy one for them for £15 and pocket the difference. Amazon then delivers directly to them.

Firstly - is this legal?
and secondly - would you be p'd off if you got your new book directly from Amazon rather than from me?

Any advice - dont want a whole pile of -ve feedback before Ive even started!

Im not sure if you're allowed to (some alarm bells are ringing about an item needing to be in your physical possession??), but lots of people do do it.

I would be really peed off if it happended to me. I suspect your feedback would not be too good for too long!!

It can go tits up if Amazon then doesnt have what you need in.
Also if you are charging 20, then theres an invoice for 15 in the box, that would irritate/make people neg you.

never heard of this before. I would be very careful. You may not be able to locate the item once someone has paid you for it.

You could order one, test the market(see if its snapped up) then 5, then 10 etc..
I sell on ebay full time and have stuff that sells, but not every day. Its just sitting here waiting to go, but its not the top ten of toys or anything, and everything DOES go. Eventually
